1. Ajiya Okonomiyaki Restaurant

Just a short walk from Beauty World MRT, Ajiya Okonomiyaki Restaurant is one of the rare spots in Singapore where you can grill your own okonomiyaki. Opting for the DIY experience even comes with a 10% discount!
With a warm and inviting atmosphere, the restaurant offers both counter and booth seating to accommodate groups of various sizes. Their Okonomiyaki is available in three options: Seafood, Meat, and Veggie, each allowing you to choose three ingredients. For instance, the Seafood Okonomiyaki lets you select from prawns, scallops, and tako, while the Meat option includes bacon and pork belly.
For an added touch of fun, go for the DIY option and grilling your own okonomiyaki. Not only do you get a 10% discount, but the friendly staff will also provide an hourglass to ensure your pancake is cooked to perfection without the risk of burning.

Great place to come try some genuine okonomiyaki with Japanese restaurant vibes. It’s a bit small and it gets crowded fast plus it doesn’t take reservations so pls do come early. If you sit at the counter the okonomiyaki is cooked in front of you and the staff will ask for your preferences. Ingredients and fresh and the taste is close to the ones we had in Osaka and you can choose up to 3 toppings for free or add on more for extra money. The sides were also good especially the pork gyoza and chicken karaage. Staff were also friendly and will explain the dishes to you and recommend suggestions as well.

The food experience was the best and the most intruiging of my whole life! They allow you to DIY your own okonomiyaki, and even put the sauce and design your own ‘art’ on it! They also offer different foods and the owner is very friendly and nice!

We were 3 hungry customers. After the orders were placed, the drinks arrived in a short while. The soft-shell crabs were the first to be served, followed by mentos scallops, soba yaki and then the seafood and meat okonomiyaki. We throughly enjoyed the food. Personally, our bacon and cheese okonomiyaki is slightly too salty for me. I shouldn’t have two salty ingredients in the same okonomiyaki. It is surely a person learnt for me!

2. Seiwaa Okonomiyaki & Teppanyaki Restaurant

Nestled along Dunlop Street in Jalan Besar, Seiwaa Okonomiyaki & Teppanyaki Restaurant is a hidden gem offering a hands-on DIY okonomiyaki experience with an extensive selection of toppings. From mixing the batter to grilling, flipping, and adding our favorite sauces, every step was interactive and enjoyable. While their okonomiyaki may not have been the most perfectly shaped, the flavors were spot on—savory, crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious.
As seating with hot plates is limited, it’s best to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. And if you have a big appetite, don’t miss Seiwaa’s 90-minute à la carte weekday buffet, which includes okonomiyaki as well!

This teppanyaki spot is a real gem! I loved the seafood okonomiyaki, soufflé pancakes, and mentaiko squid. The flavors were spot-on, although the portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side.
Serene
The soufflé pancake is really soft, light and fluffy. Will not make you feel bloated or heavy after eating it. We have the nogoya chicken wings, beef monja, seafood Okonomiyaki, Yaki Mi set (which I forget what is this lol!) and yakisoba. Food are all good. The staff cooks well. Their butter is shaped into a cute character too. The boss is friendly and nice. Definitely will be back again.

Hidden gem in the middle of Little India. Great food. Had a mix of seafood okonomiyaki and teppanyaki along with the chicken karaage. All the items were great. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality of food, taste and service. Would definitely visit again.

3. Nanjya Monjya Waterfront

Nanjya Monjya Waterfront is an authentic Japanese restaurant situated next to Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel along Havelock Road. With outlets in Shinjuku and Bangkok, it offers a true DIY okonomiyaki experience across all locations!
The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating, with the latter providing a scenic view of the Singapore River. Don’t be intimidated by the mostly Japanese menu—that’s a sign of its authenticity!

Nanjya Monjya is a Japanese savory pancake restaurant that specializes in okonomiyaki and monjayaki. Okonomiyaki is a thick pancake made with a batter of flour, eggs, and water, and topped with a variety of ingredients such as cabbage, meat, seafood, and vegetables. Monjayaki is a similar dish, but the batter is thinner and the ingredients are not pre-cooked.
Erika
Nanjya monjya offers both okonomiyaki (Osaka style) and monjyayaki (Tokyo style) which my dad & fiancé enjoyed. They have different ingredients that you can select from as well if you want complete seafood or complete meats.
Anton
We’ve been coming here for many years. As the name implies, they are famous for monjayaki, but they have many other types of dishes, as well, including okonomiyaki, yaki soba, sashimi, and tempura, as well as many side dishes. Personally, I prefer okonomiyaki to monjayaki, but both are good and the taste is authentic. There is a wide range of toppings available for both. I would like if they also had Hiroshima style. Of course they also have many kinds of alcohol, but it’s not a necessity. There is a large manga selection to keep your kids (and maybe some adults) occupied, and the service is warm and friendly. Overall, the quality is good and the price is reasonable for where you are and what you’re getting. It’s also a very comfortable place to dine. Highly recommended.

4. Teppan Works

Teppan Works is a stylish yet laid-back Japanese restaurant on Tras Street, specializing in teppanyaki. While its main menu highlights teppanyaki delights like A4 Wagyu Sirloin and Foie Gras Steak with Original Sauce, okonomiyaki lovers will appreciate options like the Pork Okonomiyaki and Original Cheese Sauce Okonomiyaki.
For a more indulgent choice, go for the Wagyu Suji Negiyaki, a flavorful okonomiyaki with spring onions and wagyu beef. You can even add noodles for an extra.

We came here for Okonomiyaki and were fascinated by the quality. It wasn’t too heavy or greasy but provided the right layering and flavor. Will come back again!
Jonathan Tan
A nice spot for okonomiyaki! The food was nice, staff were really friendly and the ambience was nice and casual. They even prepared a little birthday dessert plate – appreciate the thoughtful gesture!

5. Makan Koryouri

With a menu boasting over 100 items, Makan Koryouri is a must-visit for those seeking authentic Japanese cuisine in a relaxed setting. Located in the historic Kampong Glam district, it sits along Kandahar Street, just a minute’s walk from Masjid Sultan. Many online reviews praise its izakaya-style dishes, such as Tori Karaage and Ikageso Karaage, a crispy deep-fried squid dish.
However, its okonomiyaki selection is just as impressive, featuring eight varieties, including Yasai Tama, a vegetable-based Japanese pancake, and Gyusuji Tama, made with beef tendon. Diners can also customize their okonomiyaki with add-ons like Soba, Kimchi, and Mochi.

Everything that we had was great- I loved the Okonomiyaki & the garlic fried rice which was so aromatic! Hoke was tender and so generous in size. Croquette, enoki bacon, karaage & oden were also all good in their own ways as well. They also had a decent selection of sake which was also affordable.
Ariane
Decent food, good location, no queue. Enjoyed okonomiyaki, ochazuke, and lemon sour for just 33. Felt super comfortable at the counter. Izakaya-like vibe with amazing staff. The quality of food here of course is far from Japanese standards but this place is a good alternative. Will definitely dine here again 🙂
YL
Nice ambience, friendly boss and waitresses. Food was delicious Great variety. Price is very reasonable. There’s parking along the street. Saw many of their customers are regulars. Better to call and reserve as there’s not a lot of tables. Will definitely return again to try out other dishes. Their pi dan tofu, okonomiyaki and garlic fried rice is highly recommended!

6. Misato

Misato gained rapid popularity after introducing its à la carte buffet in 2019, which let diners enjoy unlimited dishes at an affordable price. Even after discontinuing the buffet, this charming Japanese restaurant continues to attract crowds with its high-quality offerings.
Presented on a sizzling hotplate, this hearty pancake was packed with cabbage, egg, and pork belly, then coated in a tangy sauce and finished with a sprinkle of dry bonito flakes. Enjoy its thick, layered texture, while the crispy pork belly lent a delicious smoky aftertaste.

I’ve been coming here for a while, and I’ve always loved their menu, but was excited to try the new dishes being added. The newest addition – the beef don – did not disappoint! The beef was perfectly tender, and the sauce had that rich, savory flavor that really hit the spot! Also, the fried chicken with chili powder is a must-try! The okonomoyaki and seafood soup—taste and presentation—were awesome as always.
Cheryl
Came here for a birthday celebration and was completely blown away by the amazing service and effort. First of all, the food on its own is well worth the visit. Ingredients are fresh, food is tasty and beautify presented in exquisite tableware. Dishes that stood out were the katsu curry hot stone rice (not on menu), okonomiyaki and signature ebi don. The castle don set was unfortunately sold out when we ordered but would be back for it next time!
Kenn C
Great service, thanks to. Jennifer, our server was awesome. Okonomiyaki is prolly tastiest I’ve ever tasted. Food is yummy. Great value for money. Very authentic Japanese taste.

7. Yaki Yaki Bo

Teppanyaki restaurants are one of my ultimate guilty pleasures—it’s incredibly satisfying to watch a skilled teppanyaki chef put on a show while cooking right before your eyes. For a place that satisfies both teppanyaki and okonomiyaki cravings, check out Yaki Yaki Bo, located in the &JOY Japanese Food Street sections of NEX and Jurong Point. Yaki Yaki Bo offers five types of okonomiyaki: Salmon, Butatama (pork), Kaisen (seafood), Hotate, and Mentai. Depending on your taste, you can opt for the Butatama, a classic okonomiyaki with sliced pork, or the Mentai, which is topped with rich, umami-packed mentaiko sauce for a mildly spicy and savory kick.

The okonomiyaki tasted excellent 👍

I ENJOYED THIS SM. really a hefty and filling dish but so worth the calories. the okonomiyaki was still slightly crispy when we ate it and the sauce was savoury with a tinge of sweetness. pork belly was v juicy and flavourful too! initially thought the pork belly was too little compared to the pancake but it was actl enough and was a good ratio. only gripe was that there could be more sauce LOL bc some parts weren’t covered in the dressing.
Terry Ding
The okonomiyaki is well cooked and has a mixed texture but there is slight odour from the Rhizome part of the cabbage. Given the price, this odour is accepted but it is totally possible to be improved. Anyway, it is a good dish with overall delightful flavour. The chanwanmushi in onion is quite special: although the onion is not edible, you can taste its sweetness from the egg.

8. The Ramen Stall

Stay with me on this—I know it’s called The Ramen Stall, but this place offers much more than just a fantastic bowl of ramen. Situated along North Bridge Road, this Halal-certified, cozy Japanese eatery serves up a diverse range of Japanese dishes with a local twist. Think mala ramen, truffle maki, and even chicken floss maki!
A must-try here is the Okonomiyaki, a beloved Japanese street food bursting with savory flavors. Many have praised its perfect texture—crispy on the outside yet light and fluffy inside. For the ultimate indulgence, pair it with a steaming bowl of ramen, like the fiery Volcano Chicken Ramen, which comes in three spice levels to suit your heat tolerance!

Been coming here since early 2015 era and the food never dissapoint! My favourite has gotta be the Volcano Ramen and the Okonomiyaki. Even my 10 year old daughter is a fan of this place. The staff, namely Icy, is super friendly and makes us feel super welcomed here. Halal & highly recommended!!!
Idzni Santana
Been a loyal patron since early 2010s, food and service had always been great but during today’s visit I’m especially impressed by the okonomiyaki… thick fillings, very flavourful, just enough sauce that’s suuuuper yummy and addictive! Great job The Ramen Stall team. If you’re a first timer, ensure to try the soupy ramen (especially beef or volcano ones). Salmon belly sashimi is must have too, although over the years the size shrinked but taste remains! Anw, okonomiyaki 👌🏻
Belly Jay
Staff was kind enough to hold the food till it’s time to break our fast, talk bout Japanese hospitality! Wow! Absolutely rare! Food was delicious of course! Ramen was served hot! My favourite Okonomiyaki still taste the same and crispy!

9. Tomo Tokyo

Walking into Tomo Izakaya at Clarke Quay feels like a mini escape to Japan. With intricate decor featuring Japanese lanterns and Chabudai-style dining areas, the ambiance is carefully curated. For those who enjoy dining with a view, the alfresco seating offers a picturesque look at the Singapore River. Their Okonomiyaki is made with cabbage and seafood, then generously topped with bonito flakes for an added umami boost. Since Tomo Izakaya specializes in small plates, consider pairing your okonomiyaki with other delicious sides like Surume Ika, a grilled Japanese squid, or Kushi Mori, an assorted skewer platter perfect for sharing.

Spacious, chilling. Food portion is quite big and also very delicious. We ordered grilled beef sticks with raddish topping (taste a bit sour quite appetizing), oden (关东煮), yakisoba (fried soba noodles) and seafood okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake).
Paulin Chua
Had a great dinner here yesterday. Service was prompt and food was above average. The salmon sushi roll is a must try and seafood okomoyaki. The yakitori sticks are ok but would say prices are on the steeper side. Could give the salmon mentai a miss as it was hard and dry.
Athena Koh
The ambience of the restaurant is inviting and cozy. The food is quite good, and if you’re ordering yakitori, I highly recommend theokonomiyaki. The service from Archie is exceptional, and the Paris Brest dessert is a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. Sake sunrise is the go to cocktail 🍹
