1. Singapore Botanic Gardens

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Singapore Botanic Gardens is a haven for nature enthusiasts. This sprawling green space is a favorite for families and couples alike. Picture yourself under the shade of a giant rain tree, surrounded by a symphony of bird songs and the gentle rustle of leaves. The gardens’ lush lawns and serene lakes provide an enchanting setting for a picnic. Don’t miss the National Orchid Garden, a kaleidoscope of vibrant blooms that’s worth exploring post-picnic.

I’ve written separate reviews for the sub-gardens within this area: ginger, healing, orchid & sundial gardens, so I won’t replicate those photos or reviews here. This is more an overview as well as including photos of the area outside these specialist gardens. The Tropical Forest boardwalk is well worth a visit, very different to the rest of the gardens with tall trees surrounding you. The area is popular for recreational walking/jogging, and I love the lakes. I saw an otter swimming in one of them. The Orchid garden is the jewel in the crown, but it’s all worth visiting.

It is registered as a world heritage site and has a very large botanical garden. It will take about 3 hours. Also, the paid orchid garden is not worth visiting unless you see it. You should definitely watch it. Recommended by Gardens by the Bay.
Rudy de Best
It always was one of our favorite places to go in Singapore when we lived there. Absolutely great and good food as well.

Often visit this scenic and green park, nearby rivers and long bridges good for a walk. Always referred to the maps and sign guides along the pathways in the park. The signboards that I come across are mostly in English and is multimodal. The map boards show very clear signs and everything is labelled in English for easy wayfinding.

Quiet sanctuary. Not so crowded. Convenient from Punggol Coast Mrt. Only concern is no restroom especially in the forest. Clear your bowels before going. Haha

Place is huge. Try to go early in the morning for cooling weather and beautiful scenic experience. With the addition of Japanese and Chinese gardens, there are a lot more to see now! If you are visiting with your kids, I would suggest that you bring a scooter or stroller as the place is really huge. Highly recommended!
Pritish Appadoo
So much to see and discover. Half a day wasn’t enough but had to leave unfortunately because a storm was brewing. The water lily garden alone made the visit and long MRT journey worthwhile. We did not have time to visit all the themed gardens inside, half a day definitely not enough.
Diep Le
Amazing big park with lots of activities for kids. In the morning you’ll probably see the otters family there. The only down side is parking a bit far although they have north and south parking areas.

This is the first time I visit the West Coast Park though I have visited the East Coast Park many times. Some parts of the park are under renovation but overall the park is a good place for families and groups to hang out.
Roy Lim
Another good work by National Parks. Great open green space with playgrounds abound, including a child-friendly flying fox.
Wong Woei Perng
The park is clean and spacious with a large playground. Parts of the playground are a little worn out but should still be fun for the kids. Most time when I went there isn’t a sea breeze unlike east coast so do bring fans
