Great cat cafe! Best cat cafe we ever visited in Singapore. The dining area and the cats play area are separated so it’s really very clean and no smell. The food and drinks are pretty good too! The play time is based on your checkin check out time so it’s very fair. You can just split it to half and a hour each.

The establishment is very clean and the cats were just simply adorable. The resident cats were very friendly, it’s also because we had snacks. Socks are a must but I believe they also have them for sale if you didn’t bring any. Relaxing with the fur kids here were very therapeutic. This place didn’t smell one but. The soft music in the back was what made the whole experience very soothing. Too busy to actually take many pictures. Its all about the playtime and snacks. A wonderful first experience for me.

Wonderful experience of cats and coffee. The cats are amazingly docile and well cared for. The staff are also very knowledgeable and helpful in ensuring the visiting experience is safe and not stressful to the cats. Highly recommend to visit early morning and evening near sunset, since that’s when they’ll be most active and keen to play. Every other time is better for chilling with the cats instead of playing.
Pei Qin Ng
Had a great time visiting the cats here! They are incredibly chill and well socialized. Some cats can be moody or temperamental, and the staff did a great job highlighting and warning guests about them. Had a great time chatting with them about the cats and it’s clear that the cats are all loved and well taken care of. We came on a Monday evening and we had the whole space to ourselves. When it was near feeding time, the cats gathered around and it was incredibly cute.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
2. What is the typical entry cost, and what does the fee cover?
The pricing structure for cat cafes in Singapore usually involves a base entry fee for a set duration, which often includes a complimentary drink.
- Cost Range and Duration: Entry prices generally range from approximately S$12 to S$18 for the first hour, with some establishments offering longer two-hour passes or full-day passes (usually on weekdays).
- Inclusions: The initial fee usually includes a standard drink, such as a soft drink, tea, or basic coffee. Some higher-tier packages may include a premium drink or a small snack/dessert.
- Subsequent Charges: If you wish to stay longer than your initial booking, most cafes charge a lower rate for subsequent time, typically calculated in 30-minute blocks (e.g., S$5 to S$8 per 30 minutes).
- Additional Items: Treats for the cats, specialty beverages, and food items are almost always charged separately.
It is wise to check the latest prices on the cafe's website or social media before visiting, as they can be subject to change, especially during different periods like holidays.
3. Are children permitted to visit, and what are the specific age and supervision rules?
Specific age requirements are common and strictly enforced at most cat cafes in Singapore, as the welfare of both the cats and young visitors is paramount.
- Minimum Age: The minimum age for entry typically ranges from 4 years old to 10 years old, depending on the cafe's policy and the temperament of its resident cats. Cafes that house senior or more reserved cats often have a higher age limit.
- Supervision: Children who are permitted to enter (often those under 12 years old) must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult at all times. The adult is responsible for ensuring the child follows all house rules.
- Welfare Rationale: These rules are in place because loud noises, sudden movements, or rough handling by unsupervised children can be highly stressful for cats, leading to defensive behaviors. The cafes strive to maintain a calm and respectful environment for their feline staff. Always confirm the age policy of the specific cafe before you visit with a child.
4. Are the resident cats available for adoption, and what is the typical origin of the cats?
The role of cat cafes in Singapore's animal welfare landscape is diverse.
- Adoption Status: While some establishments function primarily as a socialisation space for cats from rescue groups and actively facilitate adoption, many others house permanent resident cats that are not available for adoption. You should check the cafe’s mission—some are explicitly adoption centres in a cafe setting, while others are purely interaction-focused businesses.
- Origin: Most ethical cat cafes in Singapore pride themselves on housing rescue cats or retired show/pedigree cats, rather than cats that were bred specifically for the business. The majority of resident cats are rescued from the streets or shelters by the owners or associated welfare groups. This allows the cats to be socialized in a loving environment, making them better companions, whether for the cafe or for a future forever home. Supporting cafes with a strong rescue focus helps contribute to the wider animal welfare efforts in Singapore.
5. What are the fundamental rules for interacting with the cats to ensure their safety and well-being?
Cat cafes in Singapore operate under strict guidelines to prioritize the health and happiness of their feline residents. Adhering to these rules is non-negotiable:
- Gentle Handling Only: Never pick up, carry, or lift a cat without staff permission and assistance. The cats should remain on the ground or on surfaces they have chosen.
- Respect Rest and Sleep: Do not wake up a sleeping cat or disturb a cat that has retreated to a designated high perch or hiding spot. This is their safe space.
- No Chase/Force: Do not chase or corner a cat. All interaction must be on the cat’s terms. If a cat walks away, let it go.
- Do Not Harm: Absolutely refrain from pulling tails, ears, whiskers, or squeezing the cats.
- Sanitisation: Thoroughly sanitise your hands and, sometimes, your feet upon entry and exit.
- Photography: Switch off the flash on your camera, as sudden bright light can distress a cat.
The staff are typically vigilant in enforcing these rules and will intervene if they see improper interaction.
6. Am I allowed to bring my own cat food or treats to feed the cats at the cafe?
Under no circumstances should you feed the cafe's cats with any outside food or treats. This rule is critical for several reasons:
- Dietary Restrictions: The resident cats often have strict, monitored diets due to health conditions, age, or to maintain a healthy weight. Outside food can upset their stomachs, cause allergic reactions, or interfere with necessary medical plans.
- Behavior Management: Allowing uncontrolled feeding can lead to possessive or aggressive behaviors among the cats as they compete for food, which can ruin the peaceful environment for guests.
- Hygiene and Safety: Unapproved food may pose a contamination risk in the cafe environment.
If you wish to feed the cats, you must purchase the vet-approved, pre-portioned treats sold by the cafe. This ensures the treats are safe and allows the staff to control when and how much the cats are eating.
7. What are the observable signs that a cat is distressed, and how should visitors respond?
Being able to read a cat's body language is the key to responsible interaction and a positive visit. If a cat is distressed or feeling uncomfortable, it will show clear warning signs:
- Body Posture: Crouching low to the ground or arching its back with fur standing on end (piloerection).
- Ears: Flattened against the head, often called "airplane ears."
- Tail: Rapid, low-level thumping or twitching, or tucked tightly between the legs.
- Eyes: Pupils may be dilated, and the cat may stare intently (a warning sign) or rapidly lick its nose.
- Vocalisation: Hissing, growling, or deep rumbling sounds.
- Action: Swiftly retreating to a hiding spot, scratching, or swatting.
If you observe any of these signs, you must immediately stop the interaction, withdraw your hand, and allow the cat to retreat without pursuing it. Respecting a cat's need for space is the best way to ensure a harmonious environment for everyone.
8. What measures are cat cafes required to implement to maintain high hygiene and safety standards?
Cat cafes in Singapore are businesses operating with live animals and are therefore subject to regulation by the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) under NParks. They must adhere to a strict Code of Conduct and licensing requirements to ensure high standards:
- Veterinary Care: All resident cats must receive regular veterinary check-ups, be up-to-date on necessary vaccinations (including rabies, where applicable), and undergo parasite control. Health records must be available to the authorities.
- Cleanliness: Cafes must maintain rigorous standards of hygiene, including regular cleaning and disinfection of the cat lounge area, the separation of the food preparation and serving areas from the cat area (if food is served), and prompt cleaning of litter boxes.
- Welfare Environment: The space must be well-ventilated, sufficiently sized for the number of cats, and provide adequate resources like multiple litter boxes, scratch posts, water bowls, and designated, cat-only retreat areas high off the ground where they can escape human interaction if desired.
9. How should a cat scratch or bite incident be handled during a visit?
While cat cafe staff work to ensure a safe environment, cats may occasionally scratch or bite, usually as a defensive reaction to being startled or improperly handled.
- Immediate Action: Alert a staff member immediately. They are trained to handle such situations.
- First Aid: The staff will promptly provide basic first aid, which includes cleaning and disinfecting the wound.
- Health Assurance: You will be assured that all resident cats are regularly vetted, health-certified, and vaccinated, significantly minimizing the risk of serious disease transmission.
- Reporting: The cafe will have a protocol for documenting the incident. If the injury is serious, they will advise you on seeking further medical attention. It is important to cooperate with the staff to ensure proper procedure is followed.
10. What is the likelihood of the cats interacting with me, and how can I encourage a bonding moment?
The level of interaction is highly dependent on the individual cat's personality, mood, and the time of day.
- Cat's Autonomy: The most important thing to remember is that interaction is on the cat's terms. If you expect every cat to rush up and cuddle, you may be disappointed. Many cats are independent and prefer to observe from a distance, or they might be sleeping, especially during the hot mid-day hours.
- Encouraging Interaction: You can improve your chances by being a calm and inviting presence. Sit quietly, avoid staring directly at the cat, and speak softly. The best way to encourage a cat to approach is often to use the cafe-provided toys (like teaser wands) or to purchase and offer a treat stick. However, if a cat clearly signals that it wants to be alone (see Q7), respect its space. The most rewarding bonding moments usually happen when you relax and let the feline choose to spend time with you.
