Delicious bowl of wanton noodles with every ingredient well done especially the meat! Really enjoyed the char siew and roast meat. Good mix of lean and fatty parts. The wantons were huge and packed with ingredients as well! I really need to highlight the service from the staff- all super friendly and helpful, my soup was constantly refilled and they even noticed that a serviette dropped on the floor and quickly replaced it! Very very impressed. Sure it’s more pricey than the usual bowl of wanton mee but I feel like you really get what you pay for here! Will recommend to try if you’re in the area!

Even on a Saturday, well past the typical lunch rush, a considerable queue persists at Chef Kang Wanton Mee. Thankfully, the line progresses swiftly, despite the fact that most patrons order multiple dishes. I opted for the standard wanton mee, with an additional serving of noodles, $8. The condiments provided were notably generous. The springy noodles, in old school black sauce style paired exceptionally well with the chili. The lard pieces were fresh and delightfully crispy. The char siew delicious and perfectly charred. Even the accompanying soup was flawless – It was a rich, thick pork broth containing two plump wantons, each filled with a generous amount of filling. While it may not surpass the quality of Yuen Kee, which I tried recently, it is undeniably above average. Overall, this is a must-try if you find yourself in the area.

Great wanton mee – the noodles are really thin and bouncy, with the alkali taste kept to a minimal. I like harder noodles so this was perfect for me. Comes with 5-7 slices of charsiew that were caramelised beautifully. Wouldn’t mind if they offered a fattier cut so people can choose between that and a leaner (healthier) cut. Each serving comes with a bowl of soup with two plump dumplings (prawn, black fungus for crunch). Option to add noodles (full/half) and buy an extra plate of charsiew ($13). Queue was about 10pax long at 1.30pm on a weekday. Took about half an hour to clear. Outdoors seating so it can get warm. Typical singaporean coffee shop so there were birds flying around too.

Their location is abit hidden and out of the way but it’s worth a trip just to try this. I’ve been having it whenever I’m around toa payoh. Chef kang’s wanton mee is one of the best wanton mee I’ve tried. Very high attention to perfection as noodles, char siew, wanton, sauce and soup are all done to a very high standard. Seldom you see all elements done to such a standard. Noodles with dark sweet sauce is very tasty, char siew are carefully roasted and selected, wanton is the best with full shrimp and vegetables in it. Soup is peppery and goes very well. Nothing to compare against and also well deserved for the price of $7. Restaurant standard.

If you have sudden cravings for wanton mee at 12 midnight, this is the place for you ? Personally, I don’t like the usual char siew cause it tends to be tough but I found wanton fu’s char siew pretty good! Finished it. Wantons were good too, not too much skin. The noodles are the thicker kind and very QQ. Must try the chilli! Although it was labelled hot, I think it’s okay leh. Thought $6 for roasted pork was quite decent. Overall, I think it’s a hearty meal that satisfies cravings. C4 Wanton Dry noodles was an absolute delight. The sourness from the vinegar and spiciness makes the dish so flavourful and delicious. The wantons were juicy too. Beef Tendon Dry noodles were not bad as well, the tendon was chewy and rather soft. Tofu century egg appetiser was yummy and it had bonito flakes on it too. Black fungus appetiser had a nice crunch and bite to it. Soybean drink (340ml) was sweet and not overly sweet which made it a good thirst quencher with the spicy wanton dry noodles. Grape vinegar drink was 140ml only which was abit little. It was more sweet than sour. Overall a pleasant dining experience!

I love wanton noodles and eat it frequently all over and found the taste here is way way better than those that I have eaten elsewhere. The noodles here are springy and no alkaline smell but with fragrance after taste. Wantan also is to my liking with flavorful fillings together with the soup . Still one of my favorite dim sum joints, offering food served very quickly. Swee Choon seems to have figured out their winning formula. Offering simple fares at reasonable pricing served very quickly. This dim sum eatery has blossomed from one small shop space to taking over the neighboring spaces for their never ending queue of customers. We ordered quite a few dishes. Cucumber with black fungus was a surprise crowd winner, even winning over someone who does not usually enjoy cold dishes with its simple and light garlicky taste. The porridge was so so, a rather small bowl though but I wasn’t watery so you do get it chock full of ingredients. The chilli wanton was abit of a let down, as the spice level was abit meh. I loved the Kang kong stir fried with garlic. With the simple way of cooking, it brought out the freshness of the vegetables. I like the fried pork too, it was marinated just right and very tender and not over fried. The tentacles was abit over fried and was kind of like chewing on rubber. I would definitely hands down visit Swee Choon anytime. *good to note: I ordered a takeaway of egg tarts, char Siew puff at the outside takeaway kiosk. Waiting time was very short too, and staff ensured items were tied up properly for ease transportation back home. Egg tarts still tasted amazing when they were cold.

Awesone dim sum spot, had this for brunch ended up over eating. The highlight was the fried prawn wrapped in bean curd. Shao mai and hakao was solid, and the cheong fan had perfect texture. The hongkong style wanton noodle soup was tasty. The salted egg bun was fresh and hot. Overall, a great recommendation.

Visited the dim sum restaurant for lunch. Actually this restaurant has a long history and this is my childhood favourite. There is a good variety of dim sum options available and the food tastes decent and delicious. Their fried meesua is tasty too. From what I recall, they used to only have one stall at the stretch of shophouses but with booming business, they have expanded and their entire shophouse stretch is now taken over by the restaurant, serving customers locally and tourists.

Dim sum is surprisingly yummy, especially hargao, siewmai, and wanton in soup. Prawns were crunchy and fresh. Bolo bun, lotus leaf rice, and egg tart were pretty good too. Siew mai variations – truffle nicer than hokkaido scallop. Love the iced Hong Kong milk tea, has a strong red tea kick, and it’s milky and sweet enough. Congee and wanton noodles were decent portions. Youtiao in congee is the super tough and overfried type. Wanton noodles came with small portion of kailan. Charsiew is not fantastic but the 2 pieces of wantons in soup were juicy and succulent. Liushabao was slightly disappointing, skin is thick and smelled of coconut/pandan, which some might not like. The filling isn’t creamy enough. Ordering done online, can pay using credit card, grab, or paynow online, or at counter. Self service, collect at counter when number is called. Tables are relatively clean, plenty of baby high chairs available. We will definitely be back.

Humble setting with surprisingly good dim sum. Carrot cake and truffle Siew Mai are exceptionally good. Char Siew Sou is delicious. Also enjoyed the wanton noodle and bean curd skin rolls. Smoked duck spring roll and fish porridge are average. Self-service to collect the food. On the whole a good value meal. Definitely will come back again.

Came here on a Saturday dinner at 7pm, they have many seats! Even for large gatherings or couples. Scan the QR code on the table for order and make your payment straight. They serve pretty fast, within 10mins and your number will be called! Order one dim sum with beef noodles. The beef noodles is just so delicious! The beef melts in your mouth and exceeds my expectations. Afraid of beef that are hard to chew or veins that can’t break, this is the one for you. The fried dumplings is crispy even after 20mins on your table! All dim sums tasted up to expectations and is legit the hong kong version! Too bad the congee only came in small serving. Living up to the THW fame, signature crispy cha siew bun is done right. Our favourites include spicy wanton 红油抄手, Cheong fun and wanton noodles. One surprisingly good and value dessert is mango sago pomelo 杨枝甘露. so yummy that we will have repeats. Kid friendly family restaurant, bring your kiddos.
