I really really like it so much. There are a lot of Korean ice creams and the mart is smaller than I thought, but it has a lot of things!! It’s fully stocked with groceries, meat, seasonings, soju, beer, snacks, ramen, daily necessities, etc. There are so many delicious things like my favorite banana milk, Papico, and plum candy. I’m so happy that a mart like this opened in Clementi Mall, where I often go. Thanks to you, I was able to shop well! I’ll go often from now on!!

Velma Chan
Nice environment, pork chop is really delicious and the serving is generous.
joe fong
Well defined dinning space with grocery shop within, lots of good korean produce with korean rice wine. A butchery for selection before going for grill by the kitchen, side dishes are free flow with per pax charges under grill set. Korean fried chicken is great, crispy and boneless. Korean assorted pan cake is really good, smaller and thinner than the norm..but taste amazing. Service was good, they do serve with passion and good recommendations. Beef outskirts is a better cut.. pork collar is a must, was so tender.
Josh
Lovely Korean restaurant, with a butchery up in the front with Korean ingredients for purchase (including Makgeolli), and a small space inside where they serve either set meals or meat which you have asked them to grill (for a fee). Loved the marinated galbi and the beef. The bok soon red rice Makgeolli was excellent. Loved the nice touch of a finishing drink and a palate cleanser of a sorbet.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
2. How can I tell if a product is truly authentic and "Made in Korea"?
Authenticity can be tricky because many popular "Korean-style" snacks are actually manufactured in other Southeast Asian countries or China under license. To ensure you are getting the real deal, look for the "Product of Korea" label on the back of the packaging. Additionally, look for the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) seal, which is a gold standard for food safety and quality in South Korea.
Another pro-tip is to check the ingredient list for specific regional origins. For example, premium Kimchi will often state that the cabbage and peppers were grown in Korea (Domestic or Guknaesan). Lastly, pay attention to the brand—legacy brands that have existed for decades in Korea are usually the safest bets for traditional flavors like fermented soy pastes (Doenjang) and red chili pastes (Gochujang).
3. What are the "must-buy" staple items for a beginner shopping at a Korean mart?
If it is your first time, your shopping basket should focus on the "Trinity of Korean Cooking": Gochujang (red chili paste), Doenjang (fermented soybean paste), and Gochugaru (red chili flakes). These three ingredients form the base of 90% of Korean stews and marinades.
Beyond condiments, pick up Toasted Sesame Oil—Korean sesame oil is typically roasted longer than Chinese varieties, giving it a deeper, nuttier aroma. For snacks, look for Honey Butter flavored chips or Seaweed Crackers. If you enjoy cooking, don't miss the Frozen Mandu (dumplings); they are significantly larger and more juice-filled than standard local dumplings. Lastly, a pack of Roasted Seaweed (Gim) is a healthy, low-calorie snack that every Singaporean pantry should have.
4. Is it generally cheaper to buy Korean groceries online or at physical outlets in Singapore?
This depends on your shopping habits. Online Korean grocers often have lower overhead costs, allowing them to offer "Online Exclusive" prices on heavy items like 5kg bags of rice or multi-pack instant noodles. They are also excellent for bulk purchases, as many offer free island-wide delivery once you hit a spend threshold (usually $60–$100), saving you the hassle of lugging heavy bottles of Soju or jars of Kimchi home.
However, physical stores are superior for "Direct Discounts." Many marts have clearance sections where items nearing their best-before date are slashed by 50% or more. Physical stores also allow you to participate in "1+1" or "2+1" (Buy 2 Get 1 Free) promotions which are common in Korean retail culture but not always reflected accurately on third-party delivery apps.
5. Are there many Halal-certified options available at Korean marts in Singapore?
Yes, the demand for Halal Korean food in Singapore has led many manufacturers to seek certification. While not every item is Halal, you will find a significant number of Halal-certified instant noodles (look for the green MUI Halal logo or the KMF Halal logo from Korea).
For fresh items like Kimchi, many varieties are naturally "Muslim-friendly" as they do not contain alcohol or pork. However, be cautious of Banchan (side dishes) that might use shrimp paste or fish sauce, which some may want to verify. Many specialty marts now clearly label their Halal sections or use shelf talkers to identify certified products, making it much easier for Muslim shoppers to navigate the aisles.
6. When is the best time to buy fresh Korean fruits and vegetables to ensure maximum freshness?
Fresh produce in Korean marts is highly seasonal. If you want the best Korean Strawberries, shop between December and April. For Shingo Pears and Persimmons, the peak season is Autumn (September to November).
Most specialty marts in Singapore receive their fresh air-flown shipments on specific days of the week—usually Tuesday or Wednesday. To get the "pick of the litter," try to visit on these mid-week afternoons. Avoid shopping for fresh greens on Sunday evenings, as the stock is likely leftover from the weekend rush and may have wilted under the supermarket lights.
7. How should I store Korean condiments like Gochujang and Doenjang after opening?
A common mistake is leaving these pastes in the pantry. Because they are fermented products, they should always be refrigerated after opening. To prevent the paste from drying out or oxidizing (which turns it a dark, unappealing brown), flatten the surface of the paste with a spoon and press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface before closing the lid.
If you buy a large tub and find that it has developed a white film on top, don't panic—this is usually just "yeast bloom" and is safe to scrape off. However, if there is fuzzy green or black mold, the entire tub should be discarded. When stored properly in the fridge, these pastes can last for up to a year.
8. What do I need to buy from a Korean mart to host a DIY K-BBQ party at home?
To replicate the restaurant experience, you need more than just meat. First, head to the butchery section for frozen sliced pork belly (Samgyeopsal) or Beef Short Ribs (LA Galbi). Unlike local butchers, Korean marts slice meat to the specific thickness required for quick table-top grilling.
Essential accompaniments include Ssamjang (the thick dipping sauce made of soy and chili paste), Pickled Radish Slices (Ssam-mu), and Fresh Perilla Leaves. The "secret ingredient" to a great home BBQ is Green Onion Salad (Pa-muchim); many marts sell the pre-shredded scallions so you just have to toss them in sesame oil and chili flakes. Don't forget a bottle of Soju or Makgeolli (rice wine) to cleanse the palate between meat courses!
9. How long do the freshly made side dishes (Banchan) last?
The lifespan of Banchan depends on its preparation method.
- Pickled/Fermented items (like Kimchi or Pickled Onions) can last for months in the fridge as the acidity preserves them.
- Stir-fried items (like Dried Anchovies or Squid) usually stay good for 2–3 weeks.
- Fresh seasoned vegetables (like Spinach or Bean Sprouts/Namul) have the shortest shelf life and should be consumed within 3–5 days.
Always use a clean, dry spoon to scoop out your portion; introducing moisture or saliva into the main container will cause the side dishes to spoil rapidly.
10. Do Korean marts in Singapore offer loyalty programs or membership benefits?
Almost all the major Korean mart chains in Singapore have some form of loyalty program. Some use physical stamps, while others have integrated mobile apps. Typically, these programs offer 1 point for every $1 spent, which can be redeemed for cash rebates on future purchases.
Members also often get access to "Member-Only" prices on high-ticket items like premium rice or Ginseng products. If you plan on shopping for Korean groceries at least once a month, it is highly recommended to sign up. Some marts also offer a "Birthday Month" discount, giving you a percentage off your entire haul during your birth month.
