We celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday here and had a fantastic experience, courtesy of Joseph & the team! He went out of his way to help us get a table indoors, despite our table being booked for outdoors. Big thank you for accommodating us :). All the dishes we ordered were well executed and 10/10 based on the clean plate club they all joined! Highly recommend the homemade bread with their delicious whipped cream, aglio olio pasta with scampi, lobster roll, and kaya coffee! ☕️ we also walked home with two papayas from their edible garden ?. We went to this restaurant on my birthday 13/5 and we loved it and will definetely come back again. Our chefs were Hansan, Ahfoo, and Gumsan. Zain was in charge of bar and service. According to my parents, The Moules Mariniere was big and juicy, and the quality is amazing. The highlight of the dinner was definetely the Sanchoku Wagyu Picanha, it was tender and juicy, and best steak ive ever eaten, seriously. My sister love the potato pavé, the seasoning was just right and loved the texture. And they also sang happy birthday, it was so funny and the service was amazing. For this quality, i wouldnt even say this restaurant is that expensive, definetely coming back!!

Waterfall Ristorante was able to take us in as a last minute reservation for a table of 7 to celebrate my aunty’s birthday. Food and service were really pleasant. All the servers were very attentive to our needs. We were all given complimentary gelato and my aunty got a slice of tiramisu. Our dinner came to about $50 per person for 2 appetizers, 1 starter, 2 pasta dishes and 1 pizza to share family style.

A family favourite. The service is excellent; very warm and thoughtful. Highlight of their menu for me is their grilled octopus which is flavourful and tender. They also do excellent pizzas and pastas.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
2. Are there restaurants in Singapore that offer playgrounds or play areas for kids?
Yes, restaurants with dedicated play areas are a major draw for families in Singapore and a great way for parents to enjoy their meal. These establishments are particularly popular because they allow children to expend energy in a safe environment, granting parents a much-needed moment of peace. You'll often find these types of restaurants in more spacious locations like Dempsey Hill, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, or Sentosa. The play areas can vary from simple amenities like a sandpit and a small swing set to more elaborate structures with slides and climbing frames. Some places even feature bouncy castles on weekends or have large grassy lawns where kids can run around freely. This setup provides an ideal win-win scenario for both kids and adults.
3. How do I find restaurants with a "Kids Eat Free" promotion in Singapore?
"Kids Eat Free" promotions are a fantastic way for families to save money and are very popular in Singapore. These offers are typically a strategic effort by restaurants to attract family diners, often during off-peak hours on weekdays or as part of a weekend brunch special.
The promotions are usually subject to certain terms and conditions, such as a child dining for free with the purchase of a full-priced adult's main course, or a child eating free with every two paying adults. The best way to stay updated on these deals is to check a restaurant's official website, follow their social media pages (e.g., Facebook or Instagram), or use popular local dining apps and websites that compile such promotions. Given that these offers can change frequently, it's always wise to call ahead and confirm the details before heading down.
4. What kind of kids' menu options can I expect at family-friendly restaurants?
While the staple kids' menu items like chicken nuggets, french fries, and pasta will always be available, a restaurant that truly understands families will offer more thoughtful and appealing selections. Look for a kids' menu that includes healthier options, such as grilled fish or chicken, mini fruit platters, and sides of steamed vegetables. Some restaurants even provide smaller, simplified versions of their adult signature dishes, allowing children to feel more included in the overall dining experience. Beyond the food itself, many places make dining fun by offering interactive meal options like a "make your own pizza" kit, decorating your own pancakes, or building your own ice cream sundae. These engaging elements can turn a meal into a memorable activity.
5. What should I consider if I am dining with a baby or a toddler in Singapore?
Dining with a baby or a toddler requires careful planning to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone. First and foremost, look for restaurants with ample space to easily navigate a stroller, preferably with a reservation that guarantees a corner or booth seat. Essential amenities include a sufficient supply of clean and sturdy high chairs or booster seats that can be securely fastened.
Accessible and clean baby-changing facilities are also a non-negotiable. A huge advantage is a restaurant with a kitchen that is willing to accommodate special requests, such as warming up baby food, providing plain steamed rice, or offering simple mashed vegetables. Choosing a restaurant with outdoor seating can also be a good idea, as it provides a more relaxed environment where a bit of baby noise is less likely to disturb other diners.
6. Do I need to make a reservation at family-friendly restaurants, especially on weekends?
Yes, a reservation is highly recommended, and for the most popular family-friendly spots, it is often essential. Weekend brunch, lunch, and dinner slots at these restaurants, particularly those with popular play areas, are a precious commodity and can be fully booked quickly. Making a reservation guarantees you a table and avoids the stress of waiting in a long queue with hungry, impatient children. When booking, it's also a good idea to specify any special needs, such as a high chair or a table near the play area, to ensure the restaurant can prepare for your family's arrival and enhance your overall dining experience.
7. Can I bring my own baby food or snacks for my child?
The policy on bringing outside food and snacks is generally quite accommodating for families with very young children in Singapore. In most family-friendly restaurants, it is perfectly acceptable to bring your own baby food for infants and toddlers who are not yet eating solid foods from the menu.
However, it's always a good practice to be discreet. For older children, especially those who can eat from the restaurant's menu, bringing your own food is generally frowned upon. If you have a child with a specific dietary restriction or allergy, it's best to call the restaurant in advance to inform them, as they may be able to prepare a suitable meal, and bringing your own food will be more easily accommodated.
8. Are there family-friendly restaurants that also cater to special occasions like birthday parties?
Absolutely. Many family-friendly restaurants in Singapore have become popular venues for celebrating children's birthdays. They are often equipped to handle larger groups and may have dedicated party rooms or semi-private areas perfect for a celebration. A number of these places also offer special birthday packages that can include a curated kids' menu, a birthday cake, and even simple party-related activities. Booking a party at such a restaurant means leveraging their facilities like play areas and special menus, providing a convenient and fun-filled venue for a child's special day. It is always best to contact the restaurant's event or management team directly to discuss your specific needs and the options they can provide.
9. What are some tips for dining out with fussy eaters in Singapore?
Dining out with a fussy eater requires a strategic approach. One of the best tips is to choose restaurants that offer a diverse and customizable menu, even for the kids. Opt for places that offer simple, familiar dishes that you know your child will eat, such as a plain pasta with butter, a simple pizza, or a plate of steamed rice and a single protein. Another great strategy is to choose a restaurant with an interactive dining concept, such as a hotpot where children can choose their own ingredients, or a restaurant that lets them assemble their own food (e.g., tacos or pancakes). Finally, don't be afraid to call ahead and ask if the kitchen can prepare a very simple, non-menu dish if all else fails, as many family-friendly establishments are willing to accommodate such requests to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
10. Are family-friendly restaurants located all over Singapore, or are they concentrated in specific areas?
While you can find family-friendly restaurants in virtually every neighborhood and major shopping mall across the island, they tend to be concentrated in specific areas that are popular hubs for families and leisure activities. These include lifestyle enclaves like Dempsey Hill, where many restaurants have large outdoor areas and play zones; green spaces like the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Gardens by the Bay, which are often home to cafes and restaurants with scenic views and plenty of space for kids to roam; and resort destinations like Sentosa, which offer a wide array of dining options with proximity to beaches and attractions. Major suburban shopping malls, especially those in family-oriented heartlands, also feature a high concentration of kid-friendly eateries with playgrounds or kid-centric activity zones.
